About Sunrise Cares

Sunrise Cares is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping remove the stigma associated with mental illness, provide support, encouragement, and highlight positive, healthy alternatives for youth, young adults, and individuals in recovery.

Through community outreach, support of positive leadership, wellness and sports programs, and active engagement into activities beyond self, we seek to encourage self-improvement, social responsibility, and academic achievement, with an awareness of the joy and happiness attainable while living a full but substance-free life.

Our Mission

The Sunrise Cares Golf Classic is assembled by a group of young adults with purpose, ambition, and the innate ability to make a difference. We are asking those who can help, to come out and support their vision.

Funds raised from this event will be donated to organizations that provide public awareness and help eliminate the stigma that is associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Too many young adults are left to fight substance abuse and treatable mental health illnesses on their own, due to a lack of education or fear of loved one’s misunderstanding.

According to the CDC, in 2013 there were 41,000 deaths by suicide which is currently ranked as the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. For every death, 12 cases of self-harm are recorded, putting that number at an alarming 494,000 people. It is our goal to help provide the support and guidance that can make a difference in these statistics by supporting in today’s youth.
